Wash them with soap and let dry the sun. Wash hands after sailing even things very well and full of newspaper and put them in the sun. You will be dry in 20 minutes, no matter what kind of boots they are. The sooner you wash and dry them to collect the less waste and bacteria and odor.

Personally, I do not believe, regardless of whether smell my shoes. I left them in the boat and they cleaned one before departure. During a race, but I do every day, because there is nothing worse than to put a pair of boots sail cold and wet before they surf only. Its almost as bad as wearing a suit, cold.
